Waste & Recycling Guide

The Waste and Recycling Guide for the Town of Bassendean provides you with valuable information on reducing, re-using, recycling and recovering your waste, to assist in achieving a sustainable future for Perth's Eastern Region.

Information in this year's guide includes:

  • A calendar indicating which week your recycling bin is serviced.
  • A map indicating what day of the week your bins are serviced.
  • Christmas/New Year & Easter collection dates.
  • Additional recycling service over Christmas and New Years period.
  • Verge collection dates for Bulk Rubbish and Greenwaste.
  • Community Drop Off Morning dates.
  • Household Hazardous Waste disposal -- where you can take items which should not go to landfill such as paints, motor oil, fluorescent lights, garden chemicals for recycling and safe disposal.
  • Information on using your bins correctly.
  • Recycling Guide A-Z: an alphabetised list of what household waste goes in each bin, what can be recovered and what should be taken to the Red Hill Waste Management Facility. An online version can be found here.
  • Options for reusing and recycling items locally.
  • Disposal and recovery sites.
  • Tip pass information.

Please be aware a mistake was made on the 2018-2019 calendar that was distributed. The months of September - November 2018 show the incorrect rubbish and recycling weeks. 

In addition, recycling rules have changed  since the guides were distributed.
