The Town of Bassendean Waste and Recycling Guide provides you with valuable information on reducing, re-using, recycling and recovering your waste, to assist in achieving a sustainable future for Perth's Eastern Region.

Efficient recycling and rubbish disposal is provided to keep Bassendean clean and green.

Services include: 

  • Weekly 240 litre rubbish bin collection
  • Fortnightly 240 litre recycling bin (yellow lid) collection
  • Weekly collection of litter bins from reserves and streets
  • Annual verge bulk rubbish/junk collection (November/December)
  • Annual verge collection of greenwaste / tree prunings (April/May)
  • Community Drop Off Mornings - for certain recyclable goods
  • On call mattress collections
  • Monthly refrigerator/freezer collections
  • Annual provision of four tip passes to each property that pays for a rubbish service
  • Waste collection for special events within the Town (e.g. Carols by Candlelight, Australia Day Celebrations, etc.).

Our service standards.

Bassendean aims to: 

  • Pick up your bin on the due day (you can help us by putting your bin on the verge by 6am and ensuring that it is not overloaded)
  • Pick up missed bins within 24 hours
  • Supply a free replacement for a damaged or missing bin within five working days of notification
  • Give you at least two weekends notice of a verge collection
  • Collect bins from reserves and streets weekly or on demand
  • Collect rubbish within 24 hours after a special event.
