Lawnbrook Road Transfer Station
The City of Kalamunda has been at the forefront of waste management for a number of years and has the distinction of having opened the first transfer station for public use in Western Australia. Built in 1976, the Transfer Station is located on Lawnbrook Road, Walliston.

The Walliston Transfer Station now utilises a Resident Entry Pass (REP) system. City of Kalamunda residential properties only are entitled to a REP and will have received a REP with their rates in mid-July 2018.
The REP allows four limited entries for any combination of the following:
- General household items
- Whitegoods (refrigerators, ovens, stoves, aircons)
- Tyres (fees apply – maximum of five)
- Pale and pine timber
- Mattresses
- Bricks and building rubble (clean)
The REP allows unlimited entries for the following:
- Green waste (prunings, lawn clippings and branches)
- Clothing
- Cardboard
- Dry cell batteries
- E-Waste
- Fluorescent globes / tubes
- Glass
- Metal of any type (cut to a maximum of 1.5m length, width, height and not solid)
- Motor oil (maximum 20 litres)
- Motor vehicle batteries
Waste not accepted
Items NOT suitable for disposal and recycling include:
- Asbestos/Hardiflex
- Concrete/sand
- Chemicals
- Liquids
- Paints
SHEDULE OF FEES AND CHARGES
To dispose of residential waste without incurring a fee you must
- Be a resident of the City of Kalamunda
- Produce your Entry Pass
- Produce a photo ID (e.g. Driver’s Licence) with the residential address corresponding to the Entry Pass
