Site Tours for Community Groups (1 - 1.5 hours)

Free tours of the Red Hill Waste Management Facility are available for interested community groups during weekdays.  However groups must provide their own bus for the tour.

The tour provides an informative behind-the-scenes look at what is involved in managing waste for Perth's Eastern Region. The tour will take participants to areas not seen by the general public to observe waste diversion programs, the Landfill Gas & Power Station site, the tip face and green waste recovery.

Participants can also visit the Environmental Education Centre and learn what to do at home to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Free Weekend Tours for Community Members (2.5 hours)

At various times throughout the year, EMRC's Waste Education team provides a free bus tour of the Red Hill Waste Management Facility for residents of Perth's Eastern Region.

The tours provide an informative behind-the-scenes look at what is involved in managing household waste. The tour will take participants to areas not seen by the general public to observe waste diversion programs, the Landfill Gas & Power Station site, the tip face and green waste recovery. After the site tour, participants are invited to visit Red Hill's Environmental Education Centre for morning tea and a look at our waste education activities. 

Tours are suitable for both adults and children, and bookings are essential.

Free Tree Planting Day and Landfill Tour for Community Members (6 hours) - Thursday 11 July 2019

BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL!

Join the EMRC’s waste and environmental education team for a fun and informative day out at the Red Hill Waste Management Facility. This event is free of charge and registrations are limited.

Due to a lack of parking facilities at the Red Hill WMF, a bus will depart from Belmont and Woodbridge locations at 9:00am and 9:30am respectively. The bus will then return participants to the pick-up points by 3:00pm.

Participants will be taken on a tour of the site which includes landfilling and excavation areas, followed by lunch and activities in the Environmental Education Centre.

We’ll also be getting out amongst nature to plant native seedlings as part of the site’s environmental rehabilitation program.

Participation is suitable only for people aged 5 years and above due to the nature of the site and activities being undertaken. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
