The EMRC Waste Education team is able to provide free information and advice on anything waste and recycling related for schools.

The team is able to assist schools within the region to develop or update existing waste reduction and recycling programs. This can include running activities for schools events such as sustainability and earth days.

Waste-Wise Schools

This award-winning program provides professional development for teachers in Western Australia in developing school waste minimisation strategies, such as recycling, composting and worm farming, and administers a school grants program. The program is free of charge.

Transpacific Cleanaway waste education programs

These programs are available to local primary schools in Perth's Eastern Region, free of charge. The Transpacific Cleanaway education program focuses on the three R's: recycling, reusing and reducing through practical demonstrations and entertaining class activities. The program is very popular so teachers are advised to book early, as demand for the incursion are heavy.

REmida WA

REmida WA is a creative re-use centre that collects industrial discards from shops and factories around Perth,  making these materials available to schools, childcare centres, artists and families. Professional development workshops are offered for teachers about how to use recycled materials in the classroom and  strengthen your learning environments. They also run workshops and activities for schools, Early Years programs and festivals.
