The provision of waste education programs for schools is a priority in Perth's Eastern Region.

Each local council in Perth's Eastern Region has contracted Transpacific Cleanaway waste education staff to deliver waste education incursions to primary schools. As part of the program, Cleanaway promotes EMRC school tour program of the Red Hill Waste Management Facility. Over 600 students visit the facility annually.

In addition to hosting school tours and activities at the Environmental Education Centre, EMRC coordinates several other school waste education programs in Perth's Eastern Region on behalf of its member councils. EMRC also collaborates with officers delivering state-run waste education programs to contribute locally relevant content and updated information on local waste and recycling services.
