This policy sets out how the EMRC uses your personal information.

What kind of personal information the EMRC collects
The EMRC collects personal information from subscribers who require the EMRC to deliver downloaded information from this website, by email or post, and from subscribers who contribute to the discussion board on the website.
The personal information the EMRC collects includes name, address, contact details, age and education levels.
We obtain most personal information through the EMRC website subscription registration process and updates to subscriber details, but you may provide additional information when you request or acquire a service or provide a service to EMRC, complete a survey or questionnaire, participate in forums or when you communicate with the EMRC by email or in writing.
How the EMRC uses the information you provide
The EMRC may use information it collects from you for the primary purpose for which it is collected and for such other secondary purposes that are related to the primary purpose of collection.
The EMRC generally uses personal information to:

- help the EMRC to manage and enhance its services;

- give you the opportunity to receive updates to this website; and
- enable you to participate in the discussion board on the website.
If you do not provide the EMRC with the requested information the EMRC will not be able to provide you with the requested service.

Where personal information is no longer required by the EMRC, it will be destroyed or de-identified.
Seeking access to your personal information
You have the right to seek access to your personal information held by the EMRC and to advise the EMRC of any inaccuracy. There are some exceptions to this right set out in the Privacy Act.
If you make an access request, the EMRC will ask you to verify your identity and specify what information you require.

The EMRC may from time to time review and update this privacy policy statement to take account of new laws and technology and changes to its operations. All personal information held by the EMRC will be governed by its most recent policy, posted on the website.
We have an email list to keep subscribers informed about the development of this waste education program. Individuals must request to join our mailing list by providing their details through this website or contacting us by phone or mail. We do not sell, rent, loan, trade, or lease the addresses on our list to anyone. This list is maintained in a secure area protected from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
