Lawnbrook Road Transfer Station
 
The Shire of Kalamunda has been at the forefront of waste management for a number of years and has the distinction of having opened the first transfer station for public use in Western Australia.  Built in 1976 the Transfer Station is located on Lawnbrook Road Walliston.
 
Opening Hours         

Saturday - Sunday and Public Holidays: 9am - 5pm
(Closed Anzac Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day)

Waste Accepted

Items suitable for disposal and recycling include:

  • General household items
  • White goods (refrigerators if degassed, stoves, washing machines etc)
  • Prunings and branches (greenwaste)
  • Lawn clippings and leaves
  • Motor oil (max 20 litres)
  • Motor vehicle tyres (passenger/rimless - fee payable.  Contact Shire for cost of tyres)
  • Vehicle batteries
  • Pale and pine timber
  • Cardboard (flattened, no plastic plackaging)
  • Fluorescent lights
  • Dry-cell batteries

Residents can pre purchase a discount voucher for the Utilities/Vans or 6x4 trailer categories from Council’s Administration Centre, or Libraries.  The voucher entitles the bearer to a $3 discount on tipping fees and is valid at either the Transfer Station or the Red Hill Waste Management Facility.
