Green Waste Verge Collection
Green waste is diverted from landfill by mulching for re-use. To find out when the collection occurs in your area, please see one of the following:

- Look out for the Shire of Kalamunda leaflet with a map and area date which you will receive prior to your collection.
The following will be collected:
- Branches not more than 1.5 metres long and 150mm thick. Please place in neat piles with the cut ends facing toward the road.
- Please place lawn clippings, leaves and cuttings (less than 40cm) in boxes or small bags, placed alongside the general the general rubbish.
- Plam trees: Fronds cut to 1.5m, trunks cut to 1 metre and split into quarters lengthwise (not round sections please).
Make sure to do the following:
- Do not mix any other rubbish with your green waste.
- Do not put out stumps.
- Place greenwaste away from fences.
Please note: If your greenwaste does not meet these requirements or it contains any other general rubbish, it cannot be collected.
Bulk Rubbish Verge Collection
Bulk rubbish is collected at the same time as the greenwaste and it should be separated from greenwaste and placed neatly on the verge for collection. To find out when the collection occurs in your area, please see one of the following:

The following will be collected
- Household furniture.
- Stoves.
- White goods (refrigerators and air conditioners only if certified as degassed*).
- General junk.
*Refrigerators and air conditioners will not be collected unless accompanied by a certificate issued by an authorised trades person stating that they have been properly degassed. Refrigerator doors must be removed.
The following items should be taken to Red Hill Waste Management Facility as they will not be picked up with verge collections
- Prunings from trees or shrubs growing on the verge.
- Motor vehicle batteries.
- Tyres - car, 4x4 or motorcycle (can also be taken to Lawnbrook Road Transfer Station*).
- Bricks or building rubble, for example cement, plaster, tiles.
- Sand and/or lawn sods.
- Tree stumps and logs.
- Any part of a motor vehicle except car seats.
- Cement or asbestos products (including fibro-cement fencing).
- Hazardous liquids (oil, paint, chemicals, pesticides).
- Air conditioners or refrigerators (unless certified as degassed).
- Oil filled radiators/room heaters.
- 200 litre drums (unless open ended and visibly empty).
- Glass unless broken, wrapped and boxed/bagged.
- Metal of any type - unless cut to a maximum of 1.5m in length, width and height, and not solid. (can also be taken to Lawnbrook Road Transfer Station*).
- Wooden pallets.
- Food or household waste.
