Spectacles
Many optometrists collect used spectacles and reuse them. Al Laubman & Pank stores & Lion Clubs donate used spectacles to charity organisations.

Charity organisations

Charity organisations will often take the following items provided they are in good condition and are not stained or broken: Blankets, books, bric-a-brac, clothes, kitchenware, and ovenware, picture frames, mattresses (Vinnie’s will only pick up clean mattresses), shoes and toys. Some charities will not accept electrical items. Contact the organisation first or see their website to find out if your items will be accepted.

Freecycle is a website which aims to divert waste from landfill. You can advertise unwanted household goods upon joining the e-mail list. Membership, advertising and goods are free. For more information visit their website and find out your nearest freecycle group.

Planet Ark host a community recycling website. www.recyclingnearyou.com.au which details recycling facilities available in your community.

  • Look out for Planet Ark's printer cartridge recycling service. For locations and details of how to participate, go to their website above. Note that businesses can join this initiative. Printer cartridges can also be recycled at many post offices, Office Works stores, libraries and other retail outlets.
