Drop off days

The City of Belmont provides a number of free drop off days for items which may be difficult or hazardous to transport for long distances. These drop off days are for the following items:

  •  Asbestos (car batteries and motor oil can also be dropped off at these days)
  •  White and metal goods
  •  Mattresses and bed bases

White goods, metal goods, mattresses and bed bases

White goods, metal goods and mattresses can be taken to the City of Belmont Operations Centre (180 Planet Street, Carlisle) from 9am-2pm on:

  •  Sunday 14 August 2011
  •  Sunday 12 February 2012

The types of goods which can be dropped off include bicycles, dishwashers, freezers, ovens, fridges, roller shutters, safes and solar heaters. Mattresses and bed bases of all sizes can also be dropped off.

Mattresses and bed bases can also be dropped off at the asbestos drop off days (below).

Please note that car parts cannot be dropped off.

Asbestos

Six fence sheets (max), securely wrapped flat in black plastic and taped, will be accepted.

Other items which can also be disposed of on the asbestos drop off days are:

- motor oil (60L max in 20L containers)
- car batteries
- mattresses and bed bases.

Please take these items to the City of Belmont Operations Centre (180 Planet Street, Carlisle) from 9am-2pm on:

  •  Sunday 7 August 2011
  •  Sunday 5 February 2012
